Partner Programme Terms

The significant conditions, up front

  • Membership is a yearly subscription or a one-off lifetime purchase, bought in the Test Routes Expert app through Google Play or the App Store. The price is shown in the app before you pay. Membership includes full premium access to the app for you.
  • Pupils who enter your code in the app get 5 free practice routes.
  • The £300 challenge: we count everything your referred pupils pay in the app, at the price they paid in pounds sterling, once each payment has cleared a 30-day hold, minus refunds.
  • At £300, a yearly member gets this year’s membership fee back in cash and lifetime access; a lifetime member gets what they paid for lifetime membership back in cash. Nothing else is refunded.
  • After £300, you earn £10 cash for each referred pupil who buys lifetime access. Weekly and monthly plans count towards the £300 but never earn the £10.
  • We pay your payback once the payments counted towards your £300 are past the app stores’ refund window (about 90 days) and we have checked for self-referral.
  • Payments to you are made in cash by bank transfer, arranged by email. You cannot refer yourself, and you must disclose the commercial relationship whenever you promote the app (wording below).

1. Who we are

The Test Routes Expert Partner Programme (the “Programme”) is operated by Driving Test Expert Ltd (“we”, “us”). By joining the Programme you agree to these terms.

2. Membership

  • You join in the Test Routes Expert app (Settings → Instructor partner) by buying a yearly membership, which renews each year until you cancel it, or a lifetime membership, which is a one-off purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you pay and can differ between members; your payback is always based on what you actually paid.
  • You can cancel a yearly membership at any time in your store’s subscription settings (Google Play → Subscriptions, or App Store → Subscriptions); it then runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds of membership purchases are handled by the store under its policies.
  • If you still have an older monthly membership, it continues until you cancel it and is treated like a yearly membership in these terms: the payback is the latest month’s fee you paid.
  • Membership includes full premium access to the app for your own use, a personal partner code and QR, a partner dashboard and ready-made promotional messages.

3. Referred pupils

  • A pupil is referred by you when they enter your code in the app (typed, from your link, from your QR or from your install link) before their first purchase.
  • A pupil can be linked to one partner only — the first valid code they enter, permanently.
  • Payments on a subscription a pupil already had before entering your code do not count, and you cannot refer yourself.
  • Referred pupils get 5 free practice routes in the app. We may change the pupil offer for new referrals with notice.
  • Your invite page on drivingtestexpert.com shows your first name and your code.

4. The £300 challenge

  • We count every payment a referred pupil makes in the app — first purchases, renewals and one-off purchases on any plan — at the price they actually paid, including VAT, in pounds sterling. Payments made in another currency, free trials, free access and Family Sharing do not count.
  • Payments count only while your membership is active at the time the pupil pays.
  • Each payment is held for 30 days from the date the pupil paid. It counts towards your £300 once the hold has passed.
  • If a payment is refunded or charged back, it is taken off your total, including after the hold. If a pupil deletes their data in the app, their payments still in the hold stop counting.
  • Your total and the payments still in the hold are shown in the app and on the partner dashboard.

5. What you get at £300

  • The first time your counted total reaches £300, you unlock the reward. This happens once.
  • Yearly members: we pay you, in cash, the membership fee you paid for your current membership year, and we add lifetime access to your account. Your store subscription does not cancel itself: cancel it in your store’s subscription settings so you are not charged again.
  • Lifetime members: we pay you, in cash, what you paid for your lifetime membership.
  • When we pay: we pay your payback once the payments counted towards your £300 are past the Google Play and App Store refund window (about 90 days from each payment) and we have finished our checks for self-referral.
  • Nothing else is refunded. If the store refunds the membership purchase your payback is based on, that payback is cancelled.
  • If refunds take your counted total back below £300 before we have paid you, we wait until it is back at £300 before paying.

6. £10 lifetime rewards

  • After you have unlocked, you earn £10 in cash for each referred pupil who buys lifetime access, whether at the referral price or the normal price. One reward per pupil.
  • Each reward is owed once the purchase has cleared its 30-day hold, and is cancelled if the purchase is refunded or charged back. If we have already paid it, we take it off your next payment.
  • Weekly, monthly and other plans never earn the £10, and lifetime purchases made before you unlocked do not earn it.

7. Payments to you

  • We pay what you are owed in cash by bank transfer to a UK account in your name. We ask for a contact email in the app when you are first owed money and arrange the transfer with you by email. We do not store bank details in the app or on the dashboard.
  • Paybacks are paid on the timing in section 5: after the app stores’ refund window and our checks for self-referral.
  • You are responsible for your own tax affairs; these payments may be taxable income.

8. Fair use

  • Codes must not be posted to public coupon or voucher sites, used in paid search on our brand terms, or promoted in any misleading way.
  • We may withhold payments and suspend or end a membership for non-compliant promotion or suspected abuse. Our decision on what counts is final, acting reasonably.

9. Disclosure — required wording

UK advertising rules (CAP Code / ASA guidance) require you to make the commercial relationship clear before a pupil acts on your recommendation. Use this wording (or something equally clear):

“I’m a Test Routes Expert partner. If you buy using my code, I may receive a cash reward or free membership.”

Posts on social media must be identifiable as advertising (e.g. “#ad” upfront where applicable).

10. General

  • We may update these terms with 30 days’ notice by email or in the app; continued participation after notice is acceptance. We may end the Programme at any time — money already owed to you will still be paid.
  • Nothing in these terms creates employment, agency or partnership (in the legal sense) between you and us.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
